Willem's Baptism
Hello family and friends!
This week was a very special one. One of the investigators, Willem, was baptized! Heavenly Father provided miracle after miracle, tender mercy after tender mercy to make it possible. The sky was blue and the sun shone, yet there was a layer of snow on the ground. In the words of Søster Livingstone, "The earth was as white as Willem is clean." After church, we began the baptismal program, then drove over to a local senior center where we had rented the pool. When Willem came out of the locker room with his white clothes on, he said "I feel like an angel!" When Willem came up out of the water, he swam a victory lap around the pool! He did it!
Also, Willem's long-had request for chocolate cake at his baptism was fulfilled! We joked with him about eating chocolate cake for breakfast the day after. He proudly told us he had!
Willem's example of faith in Jesus Christ and a solid testimony of the Book of Mormon are incredible. It is never too late to come unto Christ, and He is always waiting with outstretched arms toward us. As long as we repent with faith in Jesus Christ, He accepts us home. I know that Jesus Christ lives and love us. I promise as we apply the principles in the Book of Mormon, not only will we become more like Him, but we will also come to know Him. As we make and keep covenants, we prepare ourselves to live the life God lives, which is to receive Eternal Life.
Moroni 8:25-26 says, "And the first fruits of repentance is baptism; and baptism cometh by faith unto the fulfilling the commandments; and the fulfilling the commandments bringeth remission of sins; And the remission of sins bringeth meekness, and lowliness of heart; and because of meekness and lowliness of heart cometh the visitation of the Holy Ghost, which Comforter filleth with hope and perfect love, which love endureth by diligence unto prayer, until the end shall come, when all the saints shall dwell with God."

All the cakes at Willem's baptism! We made the fruit cake, chocolate cake, and chocolate mousse at a member's home. Willem enjoyed that so much!
